Your tasks

  • Bioinformatic analysis of NGS datasets with focus on the identification of immunoglobulin sequences in therapeutic antibody discovery projects
  • Designing and performing data analysis workflows
  • Setup and administration of the required infrastructure
  • Investigating and integrating developments in NGS technology and data analysis methods
  • Support our R&D team in providing analysis and data-driven bioinformatic services
  • Contribute with your experience to an interdisciplinary team to develop innovative solutions

Prerequisites

  • PhD in bioinformatics or computational biology with at least one year of Postdoc or industry experience; alternatively, university degree with five years of professional experience
  • Extensive experience in computational analysis of NGS datasets
  • Advanced data analysis skills with R/bioconductor and/or Python
  • Working in a Unix environment and ability to administrate it
  • Experience in Bash scripting and workflow development using workflow managers (e.g. Snakemake, Nextflow)
  • Working knowledge of Conda and containerization
  • A big plus is experience in Ig/TcR sequence reconstruction i.e. Ig-Seq
  • Experience in single cell analysis (e.g., 10X, Drop-seq) is beneficial
  • Ability to independently administrate required infrastructure
  • Experience in working with Cloud solutions would be a plus
  • Pleasure to work in an interdisciplinary team on applied research-specific issues and in creative problem solving
  • Fluency in English, since English is a working language in our company

Your responsibilities

  • Support of the department Screening & Development in all operational and technical tasks and execution of screening experiments in own responsibility
  • Implementation of molecular biological methods for the generation and validation of new fluorescent reporter cell lines
  • Independent planning/implementation of processes to improve biologic/apparative sensitivity and reliability of screening rounds
  • Development and optimization of cell-based assays and transfer into a microfluidic format

  • Direct experience with a broad range of immunological techniques, including isolation and stimulation of primary immune cells (of human and rodent origin), multi-color flow cytometry, immune cell-based assay development
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in microfluidic technology is an advantage but not absolutely required
  • Proven track record in supervision of technicians / associates/ trainees
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with excellent communication and presentation skills, capable to work both as a manager and also as a team player
